Why Habibi

Street food, the way it is made back home.

A shawarma counter inside a grocery store, on purpose: next to the market’s halal butcher, on the way home, where people already are. Family recipes, small batches, nothing sitting in a tray.

01Off the spit, daily

Marinated overnight, stacked each morning, slow-roasted and carved when you order. Shawarma that sat around is not shawarma.

02100% halal, no exceptions

Every cut of chicken and beef is halal — the same standard as the halal meat counter a few steps away in the market.

03Vegetarian, seriously

Falafel rolled by hand and fried to order, hummus puréed here, tabuli chopped fresh. Half the menu has no meat on it.
